Mercy Corps “Strengthening Agriculture Market and Food Security” (SAFE) project aims to improve food security for 20,000 farmers. Africorp International Co. Ltd., contributed to the SAFE program for the year 2021 and 2022, targeting a total of 426 small holder farmers (70% of which were female farmers) and 1,500 small holder farmers, subsequently for the year 2022/2023. The interventions implemented via  SAFE entailed improvement and enhancing climate resilient yields, increase smallholder farmer sustainable good agri-practices, improved market linkages. The overall aim of ACI’s activities consisted of improving quality and production value per feddan, to purchase the harvested crops (hibiscus & groundnut) at premium rates and introducing good agricultural practices.

The joint efforts of Mercy Corps and Africorp International have increased farming acreage, maximized yields, and empowered women and youth in agriculture, laying the foundation for future Capacity building and social development among smallholder farmers.
